Twisted Forest

On the strangest of autumn days produced by Xerex's incomprehensible lands, an elf was born into the world in the Twisted Forests of their people. As the light of the plane's suns met auburn leaves, bringing a start to the cooling season, Viv would be brought to the world by her mother, Ada. As she grew, living on the edges of the forests, it became notable that she started to have an affinity towards the books that human traders would bring in. While not having the normally natural affinity towards nature and the fruits of it, she seemed to have an apt talent for the magics of men.Perhaps she was born from it, or perhaps it rubbed off from her Aunt, Cyanis. Either way, while her father, Pinlas, did not approve, her mother saw this as a good thing. Her family was known for straying from the path in some way, and while some may not approve, they had to admit it's boons to the forests. So, when she was old enough, she was sent to her Aunt at the Encircled Order so she may learn more. The Order was a place of learning, of understanding Xerex. However, unlike her peers who were more focused in the "Why's" of Xerex, Viv was more interested in how to use them. What could be unlocked with Xerex's uniqueness. She would soon master Gravimancy in this endeavor, being able to tame, yet work with Xerex's unpredictable nature. Her Aunt would defend her aspiring work, even as the Order kept finding it frivolous. It didn't help that she was slightly scatterbrained. Thinks were looking up, however, that was until the Invasion...

New Phyrexians

The Order knew something was wrong, gravity began to fluctuate off of established means in places, parts of Xerex were shifting, the angels began to prepare themselves, and symbol of a circle with a single line running down it's middle were appearing everywhere. In Xerex's skies, it's ripples, in the minds of sages...Viv can still recall the feeling of reality bending. Something tried to break it, but Xerex held. In it's wake, Xerex was plagued with abominable machines from another world. The Phyrexian invasion had begun.

The warriors of Xerex came to blows with the enemy, some of the first becoming changed by the oil the creatures dripped. Turning on brothers and sisters as if they were always foes. Soon, it became clear that pikes were the best tool, magic being even better.Viv would be the one to take note at first, those who changed did not have equal footing as those who did not, some falling endlessly into the depths of Xerex when attempting to rise into their new forms. Even those who initally tried to break the plane's reality seem to struggle, as if they tried to understand what it was they saw and felt.Quickly, the tactics changed. Warriors were to use any angle possible to fight the enemy. It would begin to work... Until the big one began to move to the Twisted Forest. Despite her Aunt's pleas for her to stop, Viv quickly went back to her home. finding the machine right by her childhood home, her father defending the front with the rest of the elves. She wasted no time, as the beast lunged at the line, she forced it back against one of the pillars. The Gravimancer inches away as her magic fought with the machine's. Smaller beasts crawled from it, causing more strain upon the mage. Until suddenly, with a yell, the beast and it's mites were crushed. Exploding with the creaking of metal and flame, igniting something inside of her...Viv would disappear in the explosion. Her spark ingited, flinging her though the blind eternities...
